Unique Gift Guide Under $50

I was so happy with how the previous gift guide turned out and  had so much fun making it that I decided to make another one. This one is specifically meant to be gift sets on sale that are under $50. I made it so that some family members left out in the previous guide are represented here.

Benefit Cosmetics: How to Look the Best at Everything Makeup Kit
Benefit Cosmetics How to Look the Best at Everything Makeup Kit, $38, available at Sephora.

This kit includes:

  •

The featured gift is this Benefit Cosmetics makeup set. I love the quirky appearance of this specific makeup kit. It’s a portable book on the outside with five easily accessible products on the inside. Plus, it has a mirror on the lid and a slot for a full size brush. The vintage images used as visual aids in the “Tips and Tricks” booklet is a great touch. Overall, this is a useful and unique gift.

The only thing that I am really disappointed about is the lack of color variation representing different skin tones. This makeup kit comes in light (seen here), medium, and dark. However, the darkest shade is BARELY 2 shades darker than the light (something very on-theme with Benefit Cosmetics). Yet another example of how the makeup industry caters to people of fairer skin and isn’t considerate enough of people of darker skin tones.

All things aside, this kit is useful to introduce someone to different types products or to someone generally always on-the-go.

My goal is to make an Under $25 , Under $15, and Last Minute Gift Guides in the near future all before Christmas, which might be a challenge because of finals week – but I’m on a mission! So if you have any ideas on what should be included in my other gift guides please feel free to leave products and family members you want me to consider in the comments.
